Arya Tara Teachings

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

We are overjoyed to announce that Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche will give Arya Tara blessing at the Deer Park Institute. Arya Tara is known as a protection deity - protecting us from all kinds of ailments and obstacles and more importantly from inner conflicts, kleshas and other mental distractions... Arya Tara is well-known as a wish fulfilling deity and supposed to be prompt in answering the prayers. She is the goddess for giving the boons of fertility, communication and more importantly the blessing of enlightened qualities such as love, compassion, Bodhicitta and ultimately enlightenment. Arya Tara is also a most popular deity among the panditas of ancient Indian universities like Nalanda University.
 
Timings: 9:30 to 11:30 am  & 3 to 4.30 pm
Day 1: Morning Blessing ceremony, followed by informal teachings during the afternoon session.
Day 2: Two sessions of teaching and practice together.

As requested by Rinpoche, participants should be aware of the following requisites.

Preferably the recipient of this blessing has already taken refuge in the three jewels. As a gesture of commitment to this sublime deity, we would like to suggest people to come with specific commitment like, to be partial vegetarian to life-long vegetarian, refraining from using environmentally destructive materials like plastic bags to Tomahawk missiles, etc.

Tara (Sanskrit: तारा, tārā) or Ārya Tārā, also known as Jetsun Dolma (Tibetan language:rje btsun sgrol ma) in Tibetan Buddhism, is a female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism who appears as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism. She is known as the "mother of liberation", and represents the virtues of success in work and achievements
