“The One Who Knows” A 7-Day Reflective Meditation Retreat led by Ven. Ajaan Jivako
In a fast-paced world, we are constantly trying to build our lives outward—managing responsibilities, pursuing goals, and navigating an endless stream of information. Yet without a solid internal footing, even our best efforts can leave us feeling overwhelmed, restless, or disconnected.
True stability does not come from controlling the world around us, but from establishing a clear, grounded foundation within. Returning to the root of our own minds allows us to move through life with greater ease, resilience, and clarity.
● Distinguishing Content from Context: Recognizing the clear distinction between transient mental objects and the spacious, undisturbed Awareness in which they arise and dissolve.
● Cultivating Buddho “The One Who Knows”: Developing a non-reactive, compassionate relationship with the mind. Rather than attempting to suppress thoughts or force stillness, we practice resting as the calm observer of our experience.
● Sitting & Walking Meditation: Alternating sitting practice with mindful walking to cultivate a continuous thread of awareness through both stillness and movement.
● Noble Silence & Digital Fasting: Limiting speech individually and collectively allows the mind to settle and creates a supportive retreat container. Stepping away from devices and digital noise directly serves to deepen the retreat experience.
● Daily Guidance & Monastic Structure: Guided meditations, daily reflections, and Q&A sessions offer clear direction for practice. Morning and evening chanting, along with short readings, provide a taste of traditional Buddhist monastic structure.
